On June 17th, Company 5 was alerted for a vehicle accident located at 111 Mt Zion Road; UMI Speedway. Initial reports indicated a race car that had left the track and struck a pedestrian. Rescue and Engine 5 responded arriving on scene to confirm the report. Crews established a landing zone on track and assisted EMS with care. A helicopter arrived on scene shortly after transporting to patient. Crews operated on scene for approximately one hour.
